I know that this is a big file for m4b - I included TOC in the description above; however it may not correspond correctly for “chapter” use - it’s there just for “content” purpose. Simon Vance is the narrator for this entire collection and I think he is superb - incredibly well voiced/acted/read… This collection is a FULL Unabridged Audible version released in 2013. Also, if anyone wants MP3 format - please let me know (I converted this to mp3 as well). Enjoy.

@GeneralTHC - The file is not HUGE; it is, however, somewhat larger than the norm (for 1 file). I downloaded it from Audible in one file (that is their setting for the “enhanced” 64kbp format). I then converted it (thus removing drm) and kept the chapter integrity intact. It plays beautifully as is on any iPod/iPhone/iPad. YOU now can download it here for FREE and either convert it to any format you choose (since the file is no longer protected); or, YOU can split it/chop it/edit it/take it out to dinner…
I can post an mp3 @32kpb version in 7 parts non-chapterized. But, really why?

There is nothing wrong with this in any way. 1.55 gig is incredible small for the content. @GeneralTHC $15 a gig? I would suggest not using your smartphone data plan for torrenting.

Well, I don’t have a smart phone at all. I do, however, have to purchase a data plan because I live in the country and my internet options are extremely limited.
It’s either dial-up, which out here runs at like at like 20k–about 1 or 2 kbs a second–or I purchase a mobile hotspot that can do over 200kbs a sec. I’ve been the doing the latter for many years. And it’s better if I can work with smaller files. That way I can start listening to the first file and see if I even wanna download the rest. It’s only a few dollars that way usually–if that much. The majority of files aren’t even that big. These audiobooks coming in a single file are a recent development.
Anyway, I’ve downloaded hundreds of gigabytes this way. It’s a system that works well for me for the most part, as very few audiobooks are packaged in over 1GB files. In the 5-6 years I’ve been using the audiobookbay, there’s only been a few books I’ve had to pass on because the file was too large–or rather because it was packaged in a way I couldn’t work with.

I use Virtual CD to convert but that loses all the chapter info in the converting process.

@prettyrandom - I use inAudible software. The developer is a contributor to ABB forums. Go to forums and look under Audible ripping - you will find a lot very useful info there as well as links to the software.

SophieNY, Maik is not high. This file is too large for QuickTime and iOS playback and I can verify issues reported by Maik on my new iPad Air 2. My workaround was to use mp4box.exe to divide your file into 4 parts and then use Chapter and Verse to add chapter segmentation and ensure iOS compatibility.

@Nfidel - I really do not understand why you would have a problem playing this file on your iPad. I play it on my iPhone 5 with zero issues! Why would you use QuickTime to play it? I only use QuickTime for video playback (sometimes)… Can you not just add it to your “audiobooks” list? The latest IOS puts audiobooks in the iBook section. I have also just tried to play it on my iPad Air - and again, works perfectly.

I believe a 32-bit version of QT is used by IOS to play all audio files whether you go thru the iBooks app or the Audible app. There are size limits imposed by this reliance on QT. For long audiobooks (18+ hours), Audible gets around this with the multifile download option, inAudible provides “iOS splitting”, and Chapter and Verse throws up warnings and prevents you from creating large .m4b files.
Not sure why your iPhone and iPad can play these large files and they fail for others.

@Nfidel - that’s really strange/weird, don’t get me wrong - I completely believe you are having these issues; yet, like you said, seems odd that I have no problems playing these on my iPhone/iPad Air. I can upload an mp3 version (but it’s @32kbps). PM me on the forums if you need it…

Jeez SophieNY, I apologize for being such an idiot. I didn’t realize the length of the file shown by iBooks was showing the length of the chapter not the entire book. I hadn’t worked with chapterized books before and I thought iBooks on my iPad 2 was truncating the file because it was so large. The audiobook actually works perfectly on all my iOS devices. Sorry again for the mistake and I hope I did not cause confusion for anyone else. This is a fantastic upload!!

This didn’t play properly on my iPod. It goes silent at around chapter 15 and is like that for the rest of the audiobook. It plays fine on PC though. There is another download of this audiobook with the chapters separated, but it has no seed unfortunately. I used YAMB to split the file into a dozen parts to make it play on my iPod perfectly.
